Description

The Roommate: Unexpected Encounters and Forbidden Desires in the Emerald City

Togs’ The Roommate isn’t your typical cohabitation simulator. Sure, it throws you into the bustling heart of Seattle, a city brimming with opportunity and a housing market that could leave you homeless overnight. You, a rising star on the corporate ladder, land a dream job and a promotion that demands a relocation. Enter your old friend, Mark, eager to offer a helping hand – a temporary roof over your head in his spacious Seattle apartment.

But life, as they say, rarely follows a straight line. Just before your arrival, Mark makes a well-intentioned yet impulsive promise – to house a charming young woman, Kari, from your new company. Suddenly, your dream digs become a potential ethical minefield. Forcing Kari onto the streets isn’t an option, but sharing a living space with a virtual stranger presents its own set of challenges, particularly when that stranger is as stunning and enigmatic as Kari.

The Roommate delves into the complexities of unexpected encounters and the simmering tension that can arise in close quarters. Kari, shrouded in a veil of mystery, carries a hint of something wild beneath her professional facade. As you settle into your shared living space, a delicate dance begins. Awkward moments of shared meals evolve into stimulating conversations, late-night talks morph into stolen glances, and the air crackles with unspoken desire.

The core gameplay revolves around navigating this increasingly charged atmosphere. The Roommate boasts a non-linear narrative, where your choices and the unpredictable actions of others shape the course of the story. Do you maintain a professional distance from Kari, prioritizing your burgeoning career and the potential awkwardness of an office romance? Or do you succumb to the undeniable allure, exploring the possibilities of a passionate cohabitation with your enigmatic roommate?

The world of The Roommate doesn’t shy away from exploring the erotic potential of this unusual living situation. Through a series of branching narratives and suggestive interactions, you’ll discover hidden desires within yourself and uncover the secrets that Kari carries close to her heart. Will your shared living space evolve into a battleground of professional tension and unspoken attraction? Or can you navigate the complexities of cohabitation and explore the passionate possibilities that lie just beneath the surface?

The Roommate is a provocative tale of unexpected encounters, simmering desire, and the unpredictable twists of fate. Embark on a journey of shared living in the heart of Seattle, where the line between professional courtesy and forbidden passion blurs with every passing day. Will you succumb to the allure of your captivating roommate, or will you prioritize professional propriety? The choice is yours, and the consequences are anything but predictable.

Changelog

v0.11.02
This one covers Tuesday, July 21, 2020, which is Day 79 of the game. You can tell that’s the date if you look closely at the lock screen on Lois’s PC.

v0.11.01
Later than anticipated, but hopefully worth the wait!
This release rounds off the Sunday night with the promised action with Kari if she’s your girl.
Then we go to Monday of Week 12. It’s a VERY busy day for MC, so much so that I’ve had to move some stuff to the following day. On the plus side, that does mean some of the work for the next build is already done!
I’ve already summarized much of what you can expect in this release, so I will leave you to discover the rest for yourselves.
There is one possible issue I’m aware of. An event that kicks off Bree’s backstory (her “accountant” paying her a visit) didn’t get flagged properly in a much earlier build and effectively repeats itself in this build as I never figured out a way to detect it retrospectively.
If you were playing from scratch that wouldn’t occur, but it’s one of those things where the following events wouldn’t make sense if you hadn’t seen this. So apologies if this gives rise to a sense of deja vu!
Anyway, it’s a packed version, I hope you enjoy it. Let me know of any issues!

v0.10.09
I was thinking I’d bypass another build in the 10xx series, but some shots for the next version are taking longer than I expected so I’m releasing this build that does fix some issues.
As previously mentioned, there’s a scene with Kari and Lois when they’re exploring the new house.
There’s also a fix for an issue where you could get trapped in a loop if MC ran out of energy.
As to the next build, I’ll post on that shortly…

v0.10.08
Considerably later than anticipated but, as I said before, it grew!
There’s probably as much content in the two days of the weekend as there is in most full weeks, but it covers a number of different paths, so you would have to do play several iterations of the game to see it all right now!
As has been discussed before, there are certain types of content that aren’t to everyone’s taste and I’ve gone to great lengths to flag things. I’ll post a preview image later.
But I do think there’s something for everyone.
If you’re NOT dating Kari, she’ll propose moving out and that leads to a number of options. You can have her move to another apartment or remain as your roommate, either long term or just until you move to the new house (with or without her).
You meet Suzie for coffee. The question then becomes whether or not you want to kindle an old flame.
If you’re on the “making babies” path, you’ll take the girls to check out the new house and, if Lois is a girlfriend now, she’ll be invited to tag along. You’ll also get a glimpse of her new car!
You’ll meet Trevor for a drink on Sunday and talk about a double-date with him and his new girlfriend.
All this and more in this build and lots more to come in the days and weeks ahead!

v0.10.07
First I have to apologize for a mangled edit during your conversation with IRIS about LactoMax production. Asked if it would be worth building a new factory, Iris’s reply should read as follows:
“The cost would exceed one hundred million dollars and substantial borrowing would be required.”
That aside, the progress of the day is somewhat dependent on the path you’re on.
If you’re making babies with the sisters, Kari will mention Kira coming over that evening and there’s some discussion about what she and Aria will be doing.
You head to the office where you’ll have a chance to chat with some of the newer reception staff.
It seems Kiki’s move went less than smoothly and her day goes downhill from there, but she doesn’t seem to let things get her down too much!
Professor Greenfield wants to talk about the market for LactoMax now that the FDA have approved it. I wish I knew the formula, because the numbers he quotes are taken from reality.
If appropriate, Kira will come to the apartment on Friday evening but she’s having second thoughts and it’ll be up to you to persuade her to stay!
Looking ahead to the weekend, if you decided to “promote” Lois to girlfriend you’ll invite her to join you for dinner on Sunday.
Oh! I forgot to mention, if you’re so inclined, there’ll be an opportunity for MC to rethink his initial dismissal of Suzie’s attempt to reconnect.

v0.10.06
It covers Wednesday and Thursday of Week 11.
Aria, Cassie, Kari, Kayla and Lois are the ladies in focus in this release.

v0.10.05
This is corrects an omission that affects players whose MC is not involved with Kari.
The game jumped from the kitchen scene on Monday evening straight to the kitchen scene on Tuesday morning without the niceties of going to bed, resetting the calendar, etc.

v0.10.04
No new content. Just a fix for the problem with the (optional) call to Carolyn in Build 1003 and a couple of typos.

v0.10.03
This build takes us through Tuesday, 13 July – Day 72 of the game.
You’ll finish the events of the night before if you’re on the making babies with the sisters path!
Then it’s back to the office for more fun and games.
Trevor has some worrying news, but Maddie has happier tidings, with progress on the takeover of The Twisted Kilt.
Kari wants to go shopping after work and you’re making plans for a night out later in the week.

v0.10.02
N/A

v0.10.01
N/A

v0.9.14
A little later than advertised due to the need to re-render a few images.
It’s basically to correct some errors and tidy things up.
– amends your conversation with Gina on Sunday (Day 70) to correctly reflect your past interactions with her
– should alleviate problems with old saves for people who’ve skipped intermediate builds
– replaced a handful of grainy images

v0.9.13
N/A

v0.9.12
This build takes you through the Saturday of Week 10.

v0.9.9 BETA

This is build 0909 which fixes an error that can occur when a spurious phone
bool entry from earlier saves causes a python exception.

v0.9.0

This is build 0908 which continues through to Friday morning of Week 10.

It fixes a number of issues with the whole version 0.9.x cycle and introduces
a significant expansion of the phone system. It also expands your options when
discussing Madison’s takeover of The Twisted Kilt
v0.9.7
Considerably later than expected, but I hope you’ll find it worth the wait.
This build takes us through to (but not including) Wednesday evening of Week 10.
Because it includes some significant bug fixes, I’m making it public from the outset.
However I plan to make the next full build (assuming this one is free of any major errors) exclusive to patrons for the first week or so.

v0.9.6
This covers from Monday night to Wednesday morning.

v0.8.7
This is build 0807, which rounds off Week 9 of game time and fixes some minor
errors and omissions in the previous build, including:

  • certain scenes with Kayla and Rei
  • slightly expanded interaction with Tilly

v0.8.6
This is build 0806, an incremental release that covers the Fourth of July party.

v0.8.5
Added a slider to adjust text box opacity in the Preferences screen.

  • Fixed issues with Calendars and game saves from older versions.
  • Fixed some missing graphics for the receptionists on ”Casual Friday”.
  • Added content for Ashley and Lois that was incomplete when 0804 released.

v0.8.4
This is build 0804, with various minor bug fixes and corrections, and some
additional graphics that weren’t ready for the last build.

  • Fixed an issue with calling Kiki
  • Fixed an issue with calling Vanessa
  • Various update for new calendar/phone

v0.8.3
This is build 0803, which takes us to the eight and ninth weeks of the game.

  • The Calendar system has been completed, and integrates with the Phone.
  • A new EventQueue system allows for random or “triggered” events to occur.
  • The size of the side images has been reduced and the text area and menus are
  • centered once again (the offset was annoying me).
  • The text background is more transparent and text is outlined for clarity.
  • See the readme document for more complete information.
  • Constructive feedback is welcome. The best place for discussion is F95Zone.

v0.7.2
Expanding the story to Week Seven of game time (and Week Eight, kind of)

v0.5.2
Fixes:
– Temporary workaround for if you didn’t hire Tilly as your flight attendant
– Fixed an error if you go to the bathroom to relieve your lust and Kari walks in (or not)
– Added a variable to count incidences of unprotected sex with any given partner
– Fixed an error with pet names
Known Issues:
– If MC wakes up with an erection it interferes with the timing of the start of day text,
for example, he wakes up with an erection, you get the menu choice of whether to
ignore it, THEN it will say “You wake up refreshed” or whatever.
there’s a LOT of content in our fifth week. I’m hoping to have it ready before the end of the month.
MC (you) is officially in place as the new CEO, and the new receptionists will be starting work.
You and Lois go to check out your new Executive Jet and talk to Tilly about the “Uniform” your Great Uncle had come up with. I’m still open to suggestions for a new uniform…
You’ll have to deal with the young women Randy victimized.
There are opportunities to see more of Ashley and Mallory too.
The plot is thickening with regard to Greenfield Genetics and LactoMax.
You’ll be meeting Jed, the construction foreman, to talk about getting the housing development back on track, and improvements to the Executive Suite.
And if Kari’s now your girlfriend, you can expect some fun and games with her too!
Finally, there’s a genuine “blooper” video coming for Patrons – a small matter of me forgetting to put Lois’s underwear back on after running a cloth simulation on her skirt.*
She really does have a very cute bum…
*Putting the underwear back on Lois, I mean, not ME. When I said I’d like to get into her panties, I didn’t mean in the sense of wearing them myself…
